Kedarkantha is a mountain peak of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand, India. Its elevation is 12,500 ft (3,800 m). Kedarkantha is located within Govind Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttarkashi District.

The forest cover around Kedarkantha Peak is predominantly made up of Pine trees. Between elevations of 2,000 meters to 3,000 meters, one can find forests of Deodar, Oak, and Rhododendron. Deodar (from the Sanskrit words “deva” meaning divine and “daru” meaning tree) is traditionally used in the construction of temples. Oak and Rhododendron wood is commonly utilized for making agricultural tools, while their leaves serve as fodder for livestock. These materials are often seen in use by the local villagers in the region.

Board flight from Mumbai and alight at Dehradun. Drive to famous Sankri Market (Breakfast & Lunch Own Cost) Dist: 210kms, Height: 6400ft, Approx time: 8-9 hrs). Overnight stay at Swargarohini Hotel at Sankri.

Trek begins from Sankri to Juda-ka-talab (Dist: 4kms, Height: 6400-9100ft, Approx time: 3-4hrs). Overnight stay at Juda-ka-Talab.

Trek continues from Juda-ka-talab to Kedarkantha base camp (Dist: 3 kms, Height: 9100-11,250ft, Approx time: 2-3 hrs). Overnight stay at base camp.

Trek continues from Kedarkantha base camp to Kedarkantha summit, (Dist: 6kms, Height: 12,500ft, Approx time: 7-8hrs). Return to Kedarkantha base camp. Start descend to Hargaon camp site. Overnight stay at Hargaon.

Trek from Hargaon base camp to Sankri base camp summit (Dist: 5 kms, Approx time: 4-5 hrs).
